If we are all made in God's image, does that mean God is gender fluid.....

I love my family, I love my friends, I love all kinds of music however I am addicted to my books. I love reading. I love romance. I love angst.

Following Grandpa Jess - T.J. Baer Incredibly good.
The Good Wolf - Meredith Russell I really like this story. The POV were a little difficult to follow at times and it was too short otherwise can not wait for the next story.
Weight of Silence - A.M. Arthur Ok read. Some things about the secret bothered me. It took too long to get to the actual secret itself. The whys are brought to point often enough but not the hows, at least until I was almost too irritated to care. The other part of the 'secret' when revealed was the almost the flippant, teenage way it was handled. No, that was not an incident that should have been cared for by bullying back. At least not to me. Too many concerns with that part of the story.
Then the other part of the arson specifically the hard drive that implicates Gavins friend Casper was handled within a paragraph. For some reason it didn't fit. Not that it couldn't have happened but I'm not sure why it was added. It didn't seem to stress Gavin at all really. It didn't cause him to pull away or doubt. Gavin's supposed incidents were like fireflies that floated around him that didn't really affect anything. Superfluous. That's the word. Go me.
When You Were Pixels (Syntax #0.1) - Julio-Alexi Genao That was good! At the end I was sitting with Antho saying come on, hurry!
That's got to be good, yeah?
Love Comes in Darkness - Andrew Grey Andrew Grey is a serious hit or miss with me. The first story in this series got a 4 stars. I remember really liking the story and had only one or some quips.
This one just didn't do anything for me. Howard is blind and you are reminded CONSTANTLY he is unable to take visual cues and see objects. I know Howard is blind but beating me in the head with it was annoying. Howard, of indeterminate age, is still smarting over being born blind. Me thinks that's a bit much really. Not that being blind would't be part of Howard's story but that's all there is really.
Howard whines and snaps at people, because he is blind, all through the 60% of the book I read.
Gordy seemed a nice enough fellow. There isn't much about Gordy not to like in this story. He had a rough coming out. I just didn't fall for Gordy. He was seemed 2 dimensional.

The other issue is the kids. And this is a complaint for lots of books with stories that have children in them. Authors: Go hang out with kids of the age you are going to write about please. It make the story so much more cohesive when the actions match the age. There is a scene with a 3 year old girl and she is asked what her age is, she replies 'free'. That is adorable is she were 1 1/2. Maybe. Not all three year old girls have lisps.
Thank you,
Mom of a 2 and 4 year old who speak coherently.
Hot Hands (College Fun and Gays, # 1) - Erica Pike Its so hard to read this and think this relation has anywhere to go. By the authors note on Goodreads, an apology helps but it is till hard to look into the eyes of your tormentor.
Additionally the story states there was physical abuse as well and with that, I find it so hard to believe that Casper would even allow a blindfold much less touching in the dark. The story is written well it just isn't believable to me at all. If it had been longer with more in-depth healing and not the Marvin Gaye kind, I maybe could have gone a long with the story.
I am really torn on this one. I wanted to like and believe both of these MC's.
Bloodlust - Shannon West Laugh out Loud!
I am pretty sure that a nineteen year old anybody doesn't say “Let me go, I tell you. I’ll kill you when I get up.” Most likely it would be 'Let me go you fuck!' or 'Let me go asshole!' NOT 'Let me go, I tell you.'
'I tell you' I'm sorry who says that? I'm pretty sure this book is set in this century.
So, I read and read again and said, 'no no it was one little thing keep reading maybe its a one off.'
OH NO HE DID NOT! Not 2 pages later.... dun dun dunnnn
Mr. Alpha Machismo spanks the 19 yr old while his 8 year old brother is in the bathroom of a hotel! (He was changing his clothes. The implied time frame here would be like what 3-4 minutes? Really not enough time to threaten and perform said spanking for cussing. And what the hell is that about?)
What the every loving fuck?
Ridiculous, I tell you!
Full Moon Lockdown - Jackie Nacht I loved this story. It was different than other shifter stories that I have read. It still had the mate business but the way it was handled was great! I loved that the whole instinct to 'mate' was delayed because of the need to 'CARE' for their mate first. What a concept!!! I think that, in and of itself, took me in and hugged me and I was happy.
I am going to be reading the next installment. And I am kinda mad that I didn't wait till two or three were published. I would have literally gotten the next one and started reading now.
Creature Feature - Mary Calmes, Poppy Dennison Diagnosis Wolf by Poppy Dennison 2 stars. It was boring. I didn't care for with MC's and the storyline felt rushed.
Landslide by Mary Calmes 4 stars
Again Mary makes me crazy. I can barely stand her perfect 'Jories' but she can write such beautiful imperfect people, werewolves, demons, mihrs. I loved this story and would love to read more of this world.
Provoked - Joanna Chambers I will be so flipping mad if I have to wait too long for the second book. I knew this going in that there would be a second installment so shame on me for bitching about waiting but damn this was a great story.
Waiting for a Prince (Island Tales #1) - K.C. Wells It was too short and too long.
Had it been condensed a bit, with the needless descriptive paragraphs that had nothing to do with the story removed, it would have been a lot better.
Had the aforementioned paragraphs been replaced with more background on each MC then longer would have been good. The dialogue seemed off. They are in Northern England but their accents are pretty much nonexistent. Also, it was a bit sugary in its loveyness.
Now It Can Be Told - Domashita Romero ARGH....I wonderfulness is killing me!!!!
Magic Comes to Alphabet City (And to Certain Parts of Greenpoint) - Domashita Romero How how how does Domashita Romero do it, every time?!
It was too short that is why the 4 stars.
When One Door Opens - J.D. Ruskin Pros- I liked the story. I liked the MC's. It was believable and felt real.
Cons (Not really)- The blurb makes it seem way more angsty than it is. Which isn't a problem. There was angst but it was real and wasn't ignored because of internal monologue blah blah blah. Which is funny, add to pro columm, because both MC's had lots of reasons to feel insecure and opt out of putting themselves out there. Neither did so and that was what made it all the more enjoyable. (We insecure people can and do all the time.) Some of the big babies I have read about before could use a lesson or two from these two on maning up and making the effort.
The underlining story was ok. It doesn't distract from the story and it doesn't add to the story.
My only real niggle was the 'love conquers all'. Not that it can't/doesn't happen it seemed a little too...... But then who am I to say, it was a lovely story of two people falling in love and learning how to deal with each others issues. That can't ever be bad. No, it was good.
All She Wrote (Holmes & Moriarity, #2) - Josh Lanyon, Kevin R. Free I am sure I would have loved All She Wrote had I read it instead of listening however Kevin R. Free did one tremendous job at bringing this story alive. I would be happy if he were the reader on all Josh Lanyon audiobooks.
Disasterology 101 - Taylor V. Donovan I really like this story. The MC's I adored and they felt real to me. My only niggle that kept this from reaching a 5 star was some of the discussions/disagreements didn't flow correctly? Or they didn't come to the fruition I thought they were heading towards. I wish I were better with words to explain this disconnection. Nonetheless that was really my only serious issue.
A non-issue that really bared no weight on the rating was the 4 year old, Ava. I have a 4 year old at home. This '4' year was more of a 2 and 1/2 year old with the way she spoke and was portrayed.
